What is the whitening process?

I provide all dental equipment involved in the process. I begin by setting up, having you complete a screening form and consent form, taking the before shade/picture and begin the whitening appt with the hydrogen peroxide combination, the LED light is applied, after the 60-90 minutes is complete we take an end shade/picture. The process takes about 2 hours so make sure to block that off in your calender!

Does it hurt/will I be sensitive?

The whitening itself will not hurt you. I place vitamin E oil on the gums/lips to protect the tissues from the hydrogen peroxide solution. In some cases where clients have large saliva buildup this can cause the peroxide to come down on the gum tissue, nothing that wont go away within 5-15 minutes. 
 
For clients with sensitivity I recommend brushing with sensodyne for 2 weeks before. I am very confident with this product and have had very limited to no sensitivity while using it!

How long will a session take?

A typical session takes anywhere from 1.5hrs to 2hrs. This will be 60-90 minutes with the solution/light on while laying on the chair or couch. The extra time allows for before/after shade and pictures. Get comfy!

How many sessions does it take for bright results?

I recommend 1-2 appointments to get best results. After we have your best shade I suggest every 3-6 months depending on daily habits.

When should you avoid whitening?

Accepted Answer

-under 16
-have allergies to peroxide or glycerin
-have existing tooth decay, active periodontal disease or gingivitis-are pregnant/nursing
-have had oral surgery in the last 28 days
-haven't had a dental cleaning in the past 4-6 months
-if you're taking photosensitive medication (ie. accutane)
